My favorite Android apps, Happy Saturday, while I was deleting older apps, updating some and re-thinking others, why my Samsung EarBuds Wearables need my location to work for a headphone, great headphone, the app was ok (yes it was removed), really Samsung? I understand why the Social Media apps would require that permission, my bank app yeah I really think my bank for security should access my location, but headphones, sorry removed (uninstalled), I hope in a future version of this app, location is optional, not mandatory to get some great Samsung Earbuds functionality like the environment sound preference, great if you are shopping during this pandemic times (the outside sounds gets inside, and you don’t need to touch you face), but I lived without it for so many years, maybe soon, someone will figure out how to use your headphones full functionality under another app, one that does not require GPS location, but I digressed.
During this weird times, I found that you ended up using a small number of apps, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are my favorite for entertainment, if you are always traveling or turning your phone to airplane mode, remember to download your shows, most of the new devices, have enough memory to hold a whole season of your “had to binge” series, with the note that Amazon will let you download unlimited series if they are Amazon produced, depending on your house internet, if you are working from a public location (hope not during these times) having your shows saved locally will save you a fortune on your data plan cap, if you have one. And if your family member has one of those devices (your know who you are) that are not Wifi 5G compatible they will need all the bandwidth in the house they can get, thank God for Android (mine is an S10e, and I did not pay for my Samsung Earbuds, it was part of the promotion, but still gps location really?)
Note that you can select the quality of your download, and I always use the setting GOOD or LOW you are watching on your phone, so I doubt you can tell the difference and it takes less space in your device memory. I say my favorite android apps (May 2020) because that’s my phone of choice, but I am sure the iOS universe has the same to offer. And maybe one day Linux/Ubuntu phones, and Windows phones will be back, I like to see more competition in the market.
Another great app is Robinhood (free stock for you and for me, disclaimer) that will give you control of your investments (only invest what you can afford to loose) and apply techniques from your favorite stock internet person, another great plus is the ATM card, so you have access to your funds, remember to sell the stock to use the cash), anywhere a debit card is accepted. And there are no fees to buy and sell, I was spending lots of money of fees and someone showed this company, and I am having a blast. Do your homework, find yourself a good and free stock screener site/program, you are going to need one, find your own stocks, any stock recommendation could be biased. And if you are starting on investing no day trading please.
At end of day you need to have fun, Call of Duty Mobile is the best FREE Game I have ever played, yes there are options inside the game that will make your life a lot easier, if you buy an extra here or there, but even if you stick to the free experience IT IS AMAZING, it is intense, your neck is going to hurt, your battery is going to go crazy, make sure to charge your phone after, you will be glad to try this game. It will show you leadership skills and strategy skills that you can take to any place in your life, remember its a game, if you think different please see a head doctor asap.
My favorite Android apps, great phones, great apps, be safe, don’t play and drive, don’t use your phone and drive, don’t use your phone when your parents or spouse are talking is just rude.
